To configure Netscape 6.x, perform the following steps:
The following steps were created using Netscape 6.2.1. Depending on the version you are using, the steps may appear different.
From the Tasks menu, click Mail & Newsgroups.

From the Account Wizard dialog box, click to select ISP or email provider, and then click Next.

In the Your Name text box, enter your name (e.g., Your Full Name), and in the Email Address text box, enter your e-mail address (e.g., POPID@your-domain.com). Click Next.

Under Incoming Server, in the Server Name text box, enter your domain name (e.g., mail.your-domain.com). Under Outgoing Server (SMTP), in the Server Name text box, enter smpt. followed by your domain name (e.g., mail.your-domain.com).
If you prefer, you may use the outgoing server name for your Internet Service Provider.

Ensure that POP is selected.
Click Next.
From the User Name text box, enter your user name (e.g., your POP ID), and then click Next.

From the Account Name text box, enter a name for your account (e.g., Generic name), and then click Next.

Verify that your account information is correct, and click Finish.

To create additional accounts, from your Inbox, click File, select New, and click Account. The Account Wizard will activate. Repeat Steps 2 through 8.

After configuring Netscape for your POP account, it is recommended that you disable the option to store copies of messages on the server. An e-mail overflow situation occurs if these copies occupy too much space.
